Streaming Academy

Streaming are offering a series of FREE* training sessions for both those wishing to get to grips with the basics of streaming as well as those who have already deployed their own streaming infrastructures.

The Streaming Academy is designed for individuals with intermediate or beginner levels of knowledge and will cover many of the popular uses of streaming in enterprise and education.

This one day training session will be held in London, UK (see below), the full agendas of both the basic and intermediate tracks are below.

9:30AM	Introduction to Streaming: A general introduction to streaming. A brief history and overview of the processes involved plus some popular applications

10:00AM	Installing Helix Server & Getting Started - a quick walkthrough of how to install Helix Server and the basic settings required to get started.	Helix Server Administration - a quick walkthrough of the main settings to bear in mind when configuring your Helix Server.

11:15AM	Converting VHS & DVD to a Digital Streaming Format: How to encode legacy content from media such as DVDs and VHS tapes using encoding tools and video capture cards.	Upgrading your Helix Server: One of the most requested subjects. How to upgrade between Helix Server versions with hints and tips.
12:00PM	Streaming TV, Radio & Live Broadcasts Using Helix Server: How to capture and stream live from sources like Set-Top Boxes and DV / web cams.	Logging and Monitoring: This session looks at what is recorded by Helix Server and what can be done with this in terms of reporting tools.

13:45PM	Batch Encoding: Too much content to manually encode one file at a time? Learn how to automate and simplify the process for an easier life!	Delivering Flash from Helix Server: A short run through of how to deliver Flash content from Helix Server and how to author this for your web pages.
